The 10th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge launched on October 31 and runs through November 29, 2026, drawing large crowds of residents across the emirate for its opening weekend.
Launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, back in 2017, the challenge follows a simple formula: 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days. Over its first nine editions, the initiative has attracted more than 16 million participants, making it one of the largest mass-participation fitness events in the Middle East.
This year's edition features three free fitness villages spread across the city, the centrepiece being the DP World 30x30 Fitness Village at Kite Beach. Beyond the villages, more than 23 community fitness hubs have been set up in neighbourhoods throughout Dubai, aiming to make free physical activity accessible wherever residents live.
Activities run from 3pm to 11pm on weekdays and 7am to 11pm on weekends, with offerings ranging from beach volleyball, basketball, boxing and MMA to spinning, yoga, Pilates and strength training. Padel courts are also available, alongside water sports activities organised in Hatta.
Organisers say the goal is to make healthy living more accessible to residents and visitors of all ages and fitness levels. On opening day, families, seasoned athletes and first-time participants packed Kite Beach to join the free group sessions on offer.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge overlaps with several other city events this opening weekend, including Dubai Ride, making it one of the busiest sporting weeks on Dubai's annual calendar.
